Common Questions

Why can't I see my music files?

Drive Music Player scans your Google Drive for audio files (MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, M4A, OGG, and more). If a file isn't showing up, check that it's actually stored in Drive and not just a shortcut to another location. Large libraries may take a moment to fully load.

The app can't sign in with Google. What do I do?

Make sure you have a stable internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, sign out from the app (if you're partially signed in), force-quit, and reopen. If you're still stuck, email us with your iOS version and a description of what happens.

Playback stops when I lock my phone.

Drive Music Player supports background audio. If it's stopping on lock, check that Background App Refresh is enabled for the app in Settings → Drive Music Player. Also make sure Low Power Mode isn't restricting background activity.

Can I use this with a shared or team Drive?

The app accesses files shared with your personal Google account. Shared drives and files shared directly with your account should appear, though access depends on the permissions set by the file owner.

Does Drive Music Player upload or store my music?

No. The app streams directly from your Google Drive — nothing is uploaded to any server. Your files and your listening history stay on your device and in your Drive. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

How do I revoke the app's access to my Google account?

Visit myaccount.google.com/permissions, find Drive Music Player, and remove it. You can re-authorize at any time by signing back into the app.
